The Golden Spike Tower offers an eight-story high view of the world’s largest rail yard—the Union Pacific’s Bailey Yard— where every day approximately 10,000 rail cars are sorted and sent on to their next destination.  A train comes into the yard and cars are uncoupled to roll down various sidings where they are re-formed into trains heading on down the tracks to various locations.

A WINERY AMIDST FIELDS OF NEBRASKA CORN—Feather River Winery and Vineyard, located just south of North Platte, is one of Nebraska’s largest vineyards. Cold Nebraska winters are compensated for by the mineral-rich soil of the area where the vineyard’s first grapes were planted in 2001.  The inaugural bottles were offered at the winery in 2007.
