Buckthorn Northern Railroad

The Buckthorn Northern Railroad opens each year on Memorial Day and runs through Labor Day. You’ll find the train in North Lake Park just north of Lake Loveland. Rides are 75 cents each. Children under the age of 3 ride free.

The Loveland Lions Clubs run the train. The train is owned by the City of Loveland. Proceeds from the train support many vision and eyesight projects and programs. Loveland Lions and volunteers offer over 2,000 unpaid hours each year to make sure the train runs. Their only reward is the smiles and thanks that they get from the passengers.
